Example session with this skill installed

Deploy a self-hosted MinIO and Redis stack for my app 'media-vault' on a Raspberry Pi. I need buckets for 'images' and 'logs', with logs expiring after 30 days.

    • Read your context and instructions
    • Compiled the nex-minio-self-hosted

I have generated the infra/ directory with a docker-compose.yml (MinIO + Redis), a systemd unit media-vault-infra.service, and an install.sh script. The 'logs' bucket includes a 30-day lifecycle expiration rule. Run 'bash infra/install.sh' to provision.

    About this skill

    What it does

    • Installs and configures MinIO behind nginx with TLS, a hardened systemd unit and a dedicated non-root user.
    • Creates buckets with least-privilege access policies and separate service accounts per application.
    • Sets lifecycle and retention rules so old objects expire instead of filling the disk.
    • Wires the S3 endpoint into your app config so boto3 or the AWS SDK just works against your own hardware.

    Use cases

    • Keeping media and backups on EU soil instead of a US cloud bucket
    • An S3 endpoint for a self-hosted SaaS stack
    • Cheap object storage for a Raspberry Pi home lab
    • A staging bucket that mirrors production S3 behaviour

    Known limitations

Single-node setup, not a distributed erasure-coded cluster. You are responsible for backups and disk health. Performance is bounded by the hardware, so a Pi is fine for media and backups, not for heavy analytics workloads.
