Brand Identity Design
Example session with this skill installed
I’m launching a fintech product called “Vault.” I already have a basic logo, but no complete brand identity. Audit the existing logo first, then develop a coherent identity system covering positioning, visual direction, color, typography, layout, and UI expression. I also want the final system documented so another designer or AI agent can reproduce it consistently.
- Read your context and instructions
- Compiled the brand identity design
- Generated the image
The existing “Vault” logo has been treated as an existing-identity project rather than starting with new logo ideation. The audit identifies which elements should be KEEP, REFINE, REPLACE, or remain UNKNOWN before any redesign is proposed.
Brand Identity System: Vault
1. Strategy
- Audience: Fintech users and businesses seeking secure, understandable financial tools.
- Desired perception: Trustworthy, precise, modern, controlled.
Core requirement: The identity must communicate security and competence without becoming visually generic or overly corporate.
2. Creative Direction
Territory: Controlled security.
The visual system should combine financial precision with a contemporary digital-product feel. Avoid excessive padlocks, shields, generic banking imagery, and decorative fintech gradients.
3. Identity Foundations
| Element | Specification | Rationale |
|---|---|---|
| Brand personality | Precise, trustworthy, modern, controlled | Establishes confidence without feeling institutional |
| Primary palette | Deep Navy, Electric Blue, Slate | Creates a strong digital foundation with a controlled accent |
| Typography | High-legibility display + neutral UI sans | Separates brand expression from functional interface text |
| Shape language | Structured geometry with restrained rounding | Creates consistency across UI and communications |
| Layout | Clear grid, strong hierarchy, generous spacing | Supports clarity and perceived reliability |
4. Logo System
The existing mark should only be redesigned if the audit identifies a material strategic, structural, scalability, or reproduction problem.
If refinement is required, prioritize:
- silhouette;
- proportion;
- geometry;
- negative space;
- optical balance;
- spacing;
- one-color performance;
- small-size performance.
5. Digital Expression
Translate the identity into reusable design tokens covering:
- color;
- typography;
- spacing;
- radius;
- components;
- states;
- responsive behavior;
- accessibility.
6. Governance
Record approved decisions in the Brand Decision Register. Separate fixed brand variables from flexible variables so future assets can evolve without drifting from the approved identity.
7. QA
Before finalizing, test:
- strategic fit;
- logo scalability;
- one-color reproduction;
- typography hierarchy;
- color contrast;
- application consistency;
- UI behavior;
- AI-readability;
- production requirements.
Final Output
A documented brand system that can be used consistently across identity, marketing, digital products, and future AI-assisted design workflows.

What you get
About this skill
The problem
Brand identity work often produces disconnected logos, colors, fonts, and assets instead of a system that can be consistently applied. Designers, developers, and AI agents can struggle to maintain the same visual logic across websites, social content, presentations, product interfaces, and marketing materials.
What it does
- Diagnoses existing logos and identities before recommending changes, using KEEP, REFINE, REPLACE, or UNKNOWN classifications.
- Builds brand strategy, audience definition, positioning, personality, messaging, creative direction, and visual territories before full identity development.
- Develops logo systems, typography, color, grids, spacing, shape language, iconography, imagery, patterns, motion, and responsive identity rules.
- Uses a source-backed Decision Register and approval gates to track approved, rejected, changed, and superseded decisions.
- Routes graphic, UI, presentation, social, print, mockup, and other assets through reusable specifications with fixed and flexible brand variables.
- Translates approved identity systems into AI-readable Visual DNA and structured generation workflows.
- Runs strategy, identity, application, accessibility, production, and AI-readiness QA before handoff.
Outcome
The result is a documented brand system that another designer, developer, or AI agent can understand, reproduce, extend, and maintain without reinventing the identity for every new asset.
